Step 1: Introduction to Classical Arabic

Course description:

Take the first steps towards mastery of the Classical Arabic language. Using the text, 'Introduction to Quranic Arabic' by Kasem Kharsa, students will gain vocabulary from the Qur'an and learn to apply the core features of the Arabic language.

Although the book begins with basic concepts, as the course progresses, students will be exposed to some of the most important grammatical concepts that are often neglected in elementary courses. Understanding these core concepts will help prepare students for higher levels without bogging them down with unnecessary details.

This course is suitable for students who know how to read the Arabic script without understanding, but would like to begin understanding the meanings of the Qur'an in its original Arabic.

Supplementary texts:

• At times, there may be sections of various texts provided in PDF format.

Classes:

• Live sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST.
• Live sessions will be recorded.

Prerequisites:

• Students must be comfortable reading the Arabic script, but no other experience is necessary.

Cost:

• $50 per month
